During this period of reflection and integration, I'll also teach you best practices for taking what you’ve discovered about yourself and turning that into a personalized self-care plan that you can continue with once the program ends.

As a licensed therapist with a speciality in trauma resolution, I can say that what you do with those 167 hours of the week when you're not in therapy matters.
People who have a strong foundation of self-support underneath them, or are in the process of developing one, often see greater gains in therapy faster. Learning tools that can assist you to self-regulate more easily will likely make you feel more confident in your ability to tackle difficult material with your therapist.
Who is this program not right for?
This isn't the best fit if:
You're looking for a shortcut or quick-fix
If you start taking better care of yourself now, you'll make progress sooner than if you keep putting self-care off. But there's no rushing the process once we're in it. Good habits take time to build. Once you have them, they'll stick with you--well beyond our 6-months together. But if you're not willing to commit to showing up for the journey, this likely isn't the program for you.

You'd rather hang on to your excuses
It's not easy to make a fierce commitment to ourselves. So we blame time or money or other people for making us unable to do the things that we know can help us. We make a lot of space for the resistance that inevitably comes up around prioritizing your wellbeing. There's no expectation that you show up all rainbows and unicorns! But you have to genuinely want to join us. So show up ambivalent and even a little doubtful if you want to. But know I will lovingly challenge you to set down the excuses if you start trying to pick them back up.

You're thinking this program would be a good substitute for psychotherapy
The AMBIKA Academy is an excellent compliment to ongoing therapy, but is not designed to replace working directly with a therapist.
I get how this can be confusing, seeing as I am a therapist. But in this capacity I'm your self-care coach (or strategist, mentor, cheerleader, teacher, guide...what you ultimately call me doesn't really matter so long as we're clear that I'm not showing up here in my clinical role).
You'll get a lot of the same self-regulation tools here that I teach my clients and my graduate students. And they'll serve you well should you decide to begin or return to therapy at a later date. But they aren't meant to cure or treat any illness on their own.
While not required, I highly recommend seeking addition support if possible while doing any intensive self-development work. Should you need it, I'll be happy to refer you to a colleague, as I don't provide therapy to members of the AMBIKA Academy while in the program.
