Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Medicine Sessions

If you're working with me as your KAP therapist you'll receive a checklist of both required and suggested items to have on hand prior to your journey. Many of these you'll likely already have in your home, so I'm only linking to select items here.

Mindfold Eye Mask

This mask was created specifically as a sensory deprivation tool. The thick foam allows you to open your eyes with plenty of clearance for your eyelashes while still blocking light. It's lightweight, easily adjustable, and reasonably priced. It was the first eye mask I purchased, and is my go-to for KAP sessions.

Mzoo Eye Mask

This mask is designed for sleeping, and is more comfortable than the Mindfold when lying on your side. I prefer this mask for longer journeys where there might be more movement, as well as for breathwork, yoga nidra, and guided meditation.

CareTouch Blood Pressure Wrist Cuff

Fully automatic and easy to use. Recommended by the medical team at Journey Clinical for use in at-home KAP sessions.

Omron Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor

This is the cuff I personally use. It was the most recommended by medical team at Iora Health when I worked in primary care. It's more expensive than the wrist cuff, but might be useful for people monitoring BP for reasons outside of just KAP as it has more robust features.

Nuuna Milky Way Notebook

This is my favorite notebook company. These recycled leather notebooks are a great place to record intensions for your session and process your journey afterwards.

Nuuna Moon Notepad

This recycled leather notepad is larger than the notebook and allows ample space for drawing as well as journaling pre- and post-session.

Art Supplies

I highly recommend embracing your inner artist, especially if you are in denial that you are a creative being. Here are few basics to get you started.

Sketch Pad and Oil Pastels

If you only buy one tool for drawing start with oil pastels. I reach for mine often as I love their smooth glide, and appreciate the ability to get a little messy as I use my fingers to smudge and blend.

CranioSacral Therapy

When I work with clients in my office I'll often use these tools as an additional support. I recommend getting support around proper placement and usage before giving these a go.

Still Point Inducer

This tool mimics the placement of a therapist's hands when initiating a "still point" during a CranioSacral therapy session. It can be helpful in relieving headaches and as a tool for general relaxation.
